Five questions buyers ask before they fly

The questions that come up in almost every first call with a buyer in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

  1. What kind of title deed does this carry, and what does that mean when I sell? The title deed type is shown on every listing where it is known; where it is not, we confirm it in writing at your first meeting.

  2. Who is my lawyer, and do they work for me or for the seller? Yours, appointed by you, and we will give you more than one name.

  3. What do I pay beyond the price? A written cost table for your unit, early, not at signature.

  4. What happens if delivery slips? What the contract says, and what your advisor can tell you about this developer’s earlier deliveries.

  5. Can I let it when I am not there? Sometimes, and it depends on the project rules rather than on what anyone promises in a first call.

If a question is not on this list, it is still worth asking. The ones nobody asks are the expensive ones.
